Bright Suns my fellow Star Wars Fans!
Unless you have been living on another planet, you know by now that Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge officially opened up in Disney’s Hollywood Studios today. In an effort to control the crowd levels, Hollywood Studios has implemented a virtual queue, allowing you to enjoy the rest of Disney’s Hollywood Studios while waiting your turn to enter Batuu.
Owner Leigh Rosica was there on opening day to walk you through this new virtual queue system.
To join the virtual Queue, follow the steps below;
- Be sure you have the latests version of the My Disney Experience App and have your tickets linked. Also be sure to have your push notifications enabled for the My Disney Experience app so you will be notified when it’s your time to enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
- Launch the App and look for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Status and Access. I should appear as soon as you log in or you can access it by selecting the menu option. (Hamburger icon on the bottom right).
- Select FIND OUT MORE to learn how to enter the land and to check wait times.
- If the current land status is OPEN (which is was not for us on opening day), then proceed direclty to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge via the Grand Avenue entrance near Muppet Vision 3D.
- If the current land status is ACCESS BY BOARDING GROUP only, then select JOIN BOARDING GROUP.
- On this screen it will notify you of when your estimated land entrance time will be. (I joined the boarding group at 9:26 am, giving me an afternoon boarding time).
- Once you select Join Boarding group you will select who in your party will be joining.
- Once everyone is selected, select JOIN A BOARDING GROUP.
- The next screen will give you confirmation that you are in a boarding group and will show you your estimated land wait.
- You are now free to enjoy the rest of Disney’s Hollywood Studios while waiting for your turn to enter Batuu.
- You can check your status throughout the day by returning to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Status and Access in the My Disney Experience App. The grey bar under the droid will tell you how close you are to your entrance time.
- If you have push notifications set up on your phone, you will receive an alert when it’s your time to enter Batuu.
- Once you receive your notification that it’s your turn to enter Batuu, return within 2 hours of when your boarding group is called and they will scan your MagicBand at the land entrance.
That’s it! Pretty easy and makes for a more enjoyable wait time to experience this new highly immersive land! Be sure to stay tuned as I will be posting more of my time spend on Batuu!
